The Optoma HZ40UST is a 3D-DLP projector offering 4000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2500000:1 and a resolution of HDTV 1920 x 1080. The manufacturer lists the lifespan for this model at 20000 hours, covering an estimated 13.7 years based on a 4-hour daily runtime. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 50 cm. Looking at practical performance, up to 643 cm can be illuminated with 4000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 429 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P as well as 3D. Also on board is a local media player that allows reading and playing content directly from storage media. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. With a value of only 30 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. This model dates back to 2018 and is no longer part of Optoma's current product range.
