The HD71 model is a BrilliantColor-DLP projector from Optoma, intended for Homecinema applications, offering 2400 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 4000:1 at HDTV 1280 x 720. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 2000 hours. To compensate for angled projection positions, the model features 2D keystone correction, which digitally corrects trapezoidal distortion. Looking at practical performance, up to 498 cm can be illuminated with 2400 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 332 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. Regarding noise emissions, the model proves to be exceptionally quiet during operation, producing just 29 decibels. The projector was released in 2008 and is officially no longer distributed by Optoma.
