Known as the P506QL, this 3D-DLP projector by Nec features basic specs of 5200 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 500000:1 at a UHD (4K2K) 3840 x 2160 resolution. With its laser unit, the projector offers a specified light lifespan of 20000 hours – equivalent to a usable life of 13.7 years at 4 hours a day. The specifications indicate lens shift optics, allowing the image to be physically shifted without digital image artifacts. The Lens Shift Calculator is available for room planning. Looking at practical performance, up to 733 cm can be illuminated with 5200 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 489 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content and 4K as well as 3D. Furthermore, the model supports 360° projections for highly flexible deployment scenarios. Connectivity for fixed installations is rounded off by an RJ45 port for remote maintenance and an HDBaseT interface, which transmits bundled video, audio, and control data over long cable runs. Since entering the market in 2020, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
