Based on LCD technology, the Nec NP P501X device delivers 5000 ANSI lumens, a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768 and a contrast of 4000:1 as a projector. According to Nec, the lamp has a durability of 3500 hours. For distortion-free image alignment, the projector offers both a lens shift function and keystone correction. The amount of leeway the lens provides can be checked in the Lens Shift Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 5000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 616 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 411 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. Since entering the market in 2013, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
