The hardware properties of the M283X manufactured by Nec include 2800 ANSI lumens, a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution and a contrast value of 10000:1. According to Nec, the lamp has a durability of 3500 hours. For basic image adjustment, the device is equipped with horizontal and vertical keystone correction, allowing digital compensation for trapezoidal distortion at angled projection setups. Regarding projection size, the value of 2800 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 461 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 307 cm. Additionally, a built-in ambient light sensor measures the room lighting and automatically adjusts the projection settings. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content as well as 3D. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. Equipped with a microphone jack and built-in speakers (20W), audio signals during presentations can be played back directly without an external audio system. The projector was released in 2015 and is officially no longer distributed by Nec.
