Model Overview

Based on LCD technology, the Epson EH TW3500 projects images in a Homecinema environment, with technical specs listing 1800 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 36000:1 and a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 4000 hours, achieving a lifespan of 5.5 years when used for 2 hours a day.
For distortion-free image alignment, the projector offers both a lens shift function and keystone correction. The amount of leeway the lens provides can be checked in the Lens Shift Calculator.
Looking at practical performance, up to 431 cm can be illuminated with 1800 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 287 cm.
For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported.

Super Home device

Have been using the device in my home theater for 2 years.
Very quiet device, super HD picture. I can highly recommend this device. A new lamp costs just 50â‚¬.

EH TW3500 is fun

The Epson EH TW3500 Light Power Edition is a very successful projector. 1800 ANSI lumens bring an amazing brightness to the screen. Now I can even watch a sports broadcast in daylight. The projector also produces a very good picture in the dark. The automatic iris provides the right contrast for dark movie scenes. Only the color settings need to be adjusted a little. The adjustment options are varied and leave nothing to be desired. I also find the operating noise in ECO mode very positive.
Installation and connection are absolutely problem-free. The white housing color is perfect for the living room. The lens shift controls are very precise.

All in all, a very successful projector.

Super price performance

First of all: It‘s my first projector and I‘ve been comparing for a long time. Since the prices for projectors have fallen significantly, it should also be a Full HD projector and the reviews for the roughly comparable predecessor model TW 3800 are convincing.

My first personal impressions in keywords:
+ Very good picture via HDMI, almost as good via VGA on my netbook
+ Many inputs: 2*HDMI, VGA, Component, S-Video, Video
+ Suitable for ceiling suspension and for installation also as rear projection
+ Quiet in Ecomode, slightly more audible in standard, pleasant noise
+ As a newcomer - easy to set up for me
+ Precise adjustment options for focus and zoom on the lens (2,1-fold)
+ display of a test image on request
+ horizontal and vertical lens shift for convenient alignment to the screen
+ clear button assignment on the remote control, illuminated at the touch of a button
+ wide range of storable image adjustments
+ 3-year guarantee, including on the lamp (up to 2000 hrs.)

- No printed instructions included, only on CD
- No connection cable included, except 3m long mains cable, no bag
- Very large at 45*40*15 cm.

If the room is still too bright, the LPE glass filter helps. Clamped in front of the lens, it compensates for the slight color cast of the "Dynamic" image mode and the image provides increased brightness with good brilliance.

If you are looking for an aluminum case to transport the TW 3500 - the DÃ¶rr Silver 50 offers just enough space, even for a little foam padding.
