As a projector, the Epson EB-L1710S combines LCD technology with a resolution of SXGA+ 1400 x 1050, and is additionally specified with 15000 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 2500000:1. Using this laser phosphor technology, the light source runtime is rated at 20000 hours – equivalent to a usable life of 13.7 years at 4 hours a day. To facilitate room installation, the device is equipped with mechanical lens shift and additional keystone correction, allowing the projected image to be positioned with immense flexibility. The optical system is designed for the use of interchangeable lenses, allowing for a tailor-made configuration for almost any throw ratio. The Projection Calculator is available to calculate the exact dimensions. Regarding projection size, the value of 15000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 1067 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 711 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. Furthermore, the model supports 360° projections for highly flexible deployment scenarios. The model is perfectly equipped for complex installations: In addition to the RJ45 jack for network administration, an HDBaseT port is available, transporting high-resolution AV signals over a single Cat cable. The projector was released in 2017 and is officially no longer distributed by Epson.
