With the PowerLite 585W, Epson USA offers a LCD projector that features 3300 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 10000:1 and a resolution of WXGA 1280 x 800. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 4000 hours, which amounts to roughly 5.5 years at 2 hours of daily use. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 54 cm. Regarding projection size, the value of 3300 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 584 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 389 cm. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. The projector was released in 2014 and is officially no longer distributed by Epson USA.
