As a projector, the Epson USA PowerLite 1716 combines LCD technology with a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768, and is additionally specified with 2700 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 2000:1. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 3000 hours. Looking at practical performance, up to 453 cm can be illuminated with 2700 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 302 cm. The projector was released in 2009 and is officially no longer distributed by Epson USA.
