Designed for the Short Distance sector, the PJD5553LWS model from Viewsonic features 3000 ANSI lumens, a native WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution and a contrast ratio of 20000:1. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 5000 hours before a replacement is necessary, achieving a lifespan of 6.8 years when used for 2 hours a day. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 98 cm. Looking at practical performance, up to 556 cm can be illuminated with 3000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 371 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P as well as 3D are supported. The projector was released in 2016 and is officially no longer distributed by Viewsonic.
