Based on DLP technology, the Barco Balder Cinemascope projects images in a High-End Homecinema environment, with technical specs listing 5600 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 450:1 and a UHD (4K2K) 3840 x 2160 resolution. Using this laser phosphor technology, the light source runtime is rated at 20000 hours – equivalent to a usable life of 13.7 years at 4 hours a day. To meet a wide variety of installation conditions, the projector offers the option of using different interchangeable lenses. Verifying the respective distances is easily possible via the Projector Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 760 cm can be illuminated with 5600 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 507 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content and 4K as well as 3D. An additional 360° projection capability allows the device to be oriented at almost any angle. The model is perfectly equipped for complex installations: In addition to the RJ45 jack for network administration, an HDBaseT port is available, transporting high-resolution AV signals over a single Cat cable.
