As a projector for the High-End Homecinema sector, the JVC DLA RS440 is equipped with 1800 ANSI lumens, a UHD (4K2K) 3840 x 2160 resolution and a contrast of 400000:1. The presence of a lens shift function enables flexible vertical or horizontal positioning of the projector. The achievable distances are shown in the Lens Shift Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 431 cm can be illuminated with 1800 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 287 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P and 4K as well as 3D, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. In the specifications, the operating noise is listed at a mere 20 decibels, indicating very quiet cooling. The projector was released in 2017 and is officially no longer distributed by JVC.
