The hardware properties of the VPL SW225 manufactured by Sony include 2600 ANSI lumens, a WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution and a contrast value of 3000:1. The manufacturer specifies a runtime of 4000 hours for this projector's lamp – mathematically sufficient for 5.5 years based on two hours of use per day. Thanks to its low throw ratio, the model is excellently suited for rooms with limited space. A distance of just 92 cm is sufficient to generate an image width of 2 meters. Looking at practical performance, up to 518 cm can be illuminated with 2600 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 345 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. Since entering the market in 2014, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
