With the VPL HS20, Sony offers a Laser-LCD projector that features 1200 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 1100:1 and a resolution of WXGA 1366 x 768 Pixel. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 2000 hours. For basic image adjustment, the device is equipped with horizontal and vertical keystone correction, allowing digital compensation for trapezoidal distortion at angled projection setups. A look at the light output reveals: The 1200 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 352 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 235 cm. Also on board is a local media player that allows reading and playing content directly from storage media. In the specifications, the operating noise is listed at a mere 28 decibels, indicating very quiet cooling. The projector was released in 2003 and is officially no longer distributed by Sony.
