Behind the name VPL HW20 is a Laser-SXRD projector by Sony, whose main features include 1300 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 80000:1 and a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 3000 hours. In terms of image alignment, the model offers an optical lens shift function, allowing the image to be shifted without quality loss. The exact adjustment leeway can be calculated in the Projection Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 366 cm can be illuminated with 1300 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 244 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. With a value of only 22 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. This model dates back to 2010 and is no longer part of Sony's current product range. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.
