Based on DLP technology, the Vivitek DX831 projects images in a Standard-Portabel environment, with technical specs listing 4500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 150000:1 and a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution. The manufacturer specifies a runtime of 2500 hours for this projector's lamp. Looking at practical performance, up to 584 cm can be illuminated with 4500 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 389 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P as well as 3D. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. The projector was released in 2015 and is officially no longer distributed by Vivitek.
