Designed for the Homecinema sector, the Astaire model from Philips features 800 ANSI lumens, a native WVGA 854 x 480 resolution and a contrast ratio of 400:1. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 6000 hours – mathematically sufficient for 8.2 years based on two hours of use per day. A look at the light output reveals: The 800 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 287 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 191 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. With a value of only 29 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. This model dates back to 2003 and is no longer part of Philips's current product range.
Hello,
I also bought the Philips Astaire projector on Ebay for 365 incl. shipping.
I am very satisfied with the projector and can only recommend it to anyone who doesn‘t want to spend so much money.
But be aware that the projector needs a lot of darkness.
If you want a projector that also works well in daylight, you‘d better get a DLP projector.
Now I wish everyone a lot of fun with the projector.

Review of the Philips Astaire
I bought the projector second-hand in 2004 with 1400 hours and now the lamp hour counter shows 5490 hours. I‘m slowly looking for the same model.you can get the projector on Ebay from 300 euros with 1000-1500 hours.that‘s about the lamp price and you still have a projector in reserve.I have compared several projectors and am still very satisfied.the picture is still great after the long
running time.you can‘t project any cheaper.MfG.
