Based on DLP technology, the SIM2 LUMIS AR projects images in a High-End Homecinema environment, with technical specs listing 5000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 30000:1 and a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 2000 hours. Thanks to the combination of optical lens shift and digital keystone correction, the projected image's position can be adjusted very flexibly. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Which optic is required for a specific case can easily be calculated via the Lens Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 718 cm can be illuminated with 5000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 479 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P as well as 3D. The projector was released in 2015 and is officially no longer distributed by SIM2.
