It was my entry-level projector in 1997 and I more than regretted the purchase. 3000DM at the launch. Such poor picture results on a screen not even 2m big, the pixels were bigger than ... well, I don‘t know... so very bad, very loud and far too much power. Later I got to enjoy the Epson and Infocus picture brilliance and I have to say, no comparison at all... I think the graphics on my GameBoy were simply better than on Sharp‘s worst device.

Xenon conversion class!
Also, I converted the projector to xenon, as the lamp is simply too expensive. I was able to achieve quite good results. Everything is visible even at dusk. The problem with sharpness lies in the lens. The focus can be adjusted by turning the lens. Unfortunately, the screw that was supposed to move the lens was somewhat damaged. So I simply screwed in an 8mm screw so that the screw had a guide again. Price/performance super! I bought it on ebay with a defective lamp for 50€... another 50€ for xenon set and that‘s it.

I think the projector is great
If you can no longer adjust the sharpness, then your projector has been knocked so that the lens base has shifted. However, a specialist can quickly fix this.

Picture blurred
I have the same problem. You can adjust the sharpness in the menu itself. But even turned up all the way, the picture is still far too blurred.

Focus adjustment
Hello, I have just bought a second-hand XV C1E and am having great difficulty focusing the picture. Should this actually work via the lens, or is there an option in the menu? I can‘t read it because of the blurring. Thanks and best regards
