Behind the name VP 12S4 is a DLP projector by Marantz, whose main features include 700 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 4500:1 and a HDTV 1280 x 720 resolution. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 2000 hours before a replacement is necessary. Both optical image shifting (lens shift) and digital keystone adjustment are included, enabling exact alignment on the screen. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Which optic is required for a specific case can easily be calculated via the Distance Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 700 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 269 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 179 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. The projector was released in 2005 and is officially no longer distributed by Marantz. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.
